About VaxDesign

Our Mission: VaxDesign melds immunology with engineering to find elegant and practical solutions to complex biological problems.

What We Do: VaxDesign develops in vitro models of human immunity functionally equivalent to the human immune system. We believe our technologies will enable drug and vaccine development companies to obtain better predictions of human outcomes for their therapies than is possible with existing methods. In addition, our MIMIC™ models will provide a rapid and cost-effective solution to our customers. VaxDesign's immunotherapy testing immune system models have the potential to save companies years of development time and millions of dollars of development costs.

About MIMIC™

The Modular IMmune In vitro Construct (MIMIC™) is a model of the human immune system, about the size of a coin, to reliably and predictably test drugs, vaccines and chemical formulations; a "clinical trial in a test tube." MIMIC™ uses human cells, from blood donors, in a system that provides conditions similar to that in the human body, providing a testing system in a more “natural” environment. We developed MIMIC™ to address inherent flaws with current animal testing models, namely that animals can never offer completely predictive results of a new vaccine or therapy because of basic physiological differences between humans and animals. We created the MIMIC technology not only as an alternative to animal testing, but one that is more predictive of human responses.
