Automated PBMC Assays

Because PBMC assays are the industry standard, customers may want to compare the MIMIC™ results to that standard. We have automated PBMC assays as well and present the results of a comparative experiment here.

A comparative experiment to initiate validation of the automated PBMC assay was conducted using three different adjuvants/TLR agonists (Poly I:C, LPS and Gardiquimod) and three different commercial vaccine formulations (Tripedia, Fluzone and Recombivax). The automated and manual assays were conducted simultaneously using the same stock solutions and PBMCs from the same donor.

Cytokine results are presented in figures below. Based on cytokine profiles, little, if any, difference could be discerned between the automated and manual methods; direct comparisons for each adjuvant and vaccine formulation revealed minimal experimental differences.
